One of Arizona’s wealthiest communities, Paradise Valley is known for its shopping, high-quality real estate, and incredible dining. It lives up to its name because it is a valley settled between Mummy Mountain, Camelback Mountain, and Piestewa Peak areas. The climate is pleasant due to a lower elevation than much of the surrounding town.
Golfing is also a popular pastime in the area. Many luxury courses lie here, so golfers of all skills have great spots to practice their swing. Although the entire community only takes up about 15 square miles, there is no shortage of beautiful sights and great activities to enjoy.
Besides the attraction of golfers and fashionistas, Paradise Valley holds a lot of charm and a unique vibe that residents value. Though it is right outside the heart of Phoenix, this town also overlaps with Scottsdale and gets a lot of its character from there. Scottsdale Fashion Square is the premier Scottsdale mall, filled with stores of some of the top brands and trending styles. Even if you don’t need a new outfit, the malls are a great way to get out, meet people, try new foods, and explore wellness services.
When looking for shopping, quality food, or good entertainment, The Promenade Scottsdale is the place to visit. With seasonal events, one-of-a-kind restaurants, and high-end retail shops, there is something here for everyone. And if you enjoy spending some extra cash or trying your luck on the slots, Borgata Casino and Spa is the place to be.
For a unique and unforgettable dining experience, Elements at the Sanctuary on Camelback offers Asian-fusion American food and breathtaking views of the mountains. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a weekend brunch menu. Another of Paradise Valley’s Historic Fine Dining Experiences lies at El Chorro. Called “destination dining,” this restaurant combines views of the mountains and incredible food with a top-tier venue for hosting special events. They also received the Diner’s Choice award from OpenTable. Open for dinner only and a Sunday brunch, they pride themselves on their atmosphere and experience.
As mentioned, golfers and shoppers alike will genuinely fall in love with Paradise Valley. TPC Scottsdale is one of the finest award-winning courses, open year-round, including a stadium and champions course. Artists also have made a home here. The Scottsdale Art Walk, which takes place every Thursday evening in the historic art district, brings dozens of artists and connoisseurs together each week. With special events and festivals held throughout the year, it is fun for even the less experienced artists to enjoy.
To learn more about the historical significance of this area, visiting Taliesin West is a gorgeous and exciting idea. The former laboratory of the famous Frank Lloyd Wright, this beautiful site is now a national landmark to admire the architecture and surrounding nature of the McDowell Mountains. And once you make it to Westworld, some incredible shows and auctions are happening each year. The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction attracts fanatics from around the country in January to admire and hopefully purchase incredibly unique vehicles. And in the fall, the Arabian Horse Show and competition has a great display of some of the finest horses and riders.
Although close to Phoenix, Paradise Valley is proudly served by the Scottsdale Unified School District.
